Avantgarde Translations is recruiting independent French-English translators of various levels of experience to handle translations, and if applicable, revisions, on an ongoing basis. Successful candidates will be self starters and be interested in translating primarily.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing consistently high quality French-English translation work and consistently delivering on time
  • If applicable, revising the translations of other translators on the team
  • Implementing revisions
  • Carrying out document and terminology research related to their translations
  • Contributing to updating and maintaining documentation and terminology related to their translations

 Qualifications: 

  • Have at least two to three years of experience in French-English translation
  • Be certified by the ATA or an equivalent translation agency
  • Be proficient at translating from French-English
  • Be a native speaker of English
  • Have an excellent command of English
  • Have a very good command of French
  • Specific subject matter expertise in business and legal preferred
  • Have very good knowledge of culture in English- and French-speaking parts of the world
  • Have good research skills
  • Have good computer skills
